While the dmidecode package in the Arch repositories is the latest version in terms of release number, it does not include the recommended patches that are stated on the dmidecode homepage.
Because technically speaking the package is not out-of-date, I did not mark it as such but made this topic instead.

As a result of not including the recommended patches, the available dmidecode package does not work on some hardware (mainly SMBIOS v3 systems).
Since these aren't release as dmidecode 3.1 or w/e but do affect a bunch of hardware, I propose that the official package is updated to include the recommended patches.
If you decide not to include the patches, are there any objections to me making a dmidecode-git package on the AUR?
