Hi all,
So I wanted to get rid of all the default games that came with the Gnome 3 stack. I couldn't find any meta-package that would remove all the games, so I manually uninstalled them using the command:
$ pacman -Rsn gnome-2048 aisleriot atomix gnome-chess five-or-more hitori iagno gnome-klotski lightsoff gnome-mahjongg gnome-mines gnome-nibbles quadrapassel four-in-a-row gnome-robots gnome-sudoku swell-foop tali gnome-taquin gnome-tetravex
This has done the trick, but posting this in case if anyone knows if there's meta-package for the games, or if there isn't one, perhaps this thread can serve as a reference for others.

I attempted doing
$ pacman -Rsn gnome-games
and
pacman -Rsn gnome-games-extra-data
a few horurs ago, as per this other thread, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewforum.php?id=79216; it is deprecated maybe? (thread dates back to 2009)
I'll try your suggestion. Thanks for sharing

Hi,
maybe you should add this to the wiki.

Afaik gnome-games no longer exists and instead everything is now in gnome-extra.
The problem with that is that gnome-extra contains more than just the games so that means you will not be able to use that group to quickly install and/or remove gnome games only.

If you're trying to avoid unwanted applications, you definitely shouldn't install the whole 'gnome-extras' group, or even the base 'gnome' group, anyway.
All that is really required is gnome-shell and its dependencies, although you'll probably also want gnome-settings-daemon for lots of stuff to work. The rest is completely optional.
