I've had an intermittent issue on KDE Plasma 5 for several months now, but it's now annoying enough to the point that I need to do something about it.
Starting from login, anything I try to type something into krunner, the application launcher, a sticky note I have on my desktop, or yakuake (which is also started on login) is simply ignored. Sometimes it will register 1 or sometimes 2 keystrokes before it starts to ignore me, but from that point on it ignores everything, including backspace.
A workaround for this is to open a new application and type something into it, then close the window. (I typically just open a new instance of konsole and type "exit".) This works for a while, but after some time (I have been unable to figure out if it's a set time or other trigger) the same behavior returns.
Anybody have any thoughts on this?

journal logs, xorg logs would probably help. From the description we have I'd go with input backends conflicting try to use either evdev or libinput (by installing the respective xf86-input-libinput or xf86-input-evdev, not both at the same time) and restarting Xorg

Here are the relevant logs after a reboot and using my aforementioned workaround:
Xorg log
Systemd journal
I currently have xf86-input-evdev installed, and do not have xf86-input-libinput.

Also, KDE-related dialog-boxes that pop up are also affected, for example the network password prompt, or the kwallet password prompt.
