Hi, I have Googled and searched the forums for an answer to this hoping someone can help. On my laptop (a ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2nd Gen), the webcam is working however the image displayed is not 'mirrored'. The effect of this is that when when I move my head to the left, on the screen it is shown as my head moving right. This is correct in the sense of what the camera is seeing, but does not feel natural and is not the behaviour. I would like the webcam to be permanently 'mirrored', to make it feel it feel more natural. Here is the out put of lsusb:

I have tried the following (in desperation):
$ modprobe uvcvideo mirror=1
Based on a thread I saw elsewhere but made no difference. In guvcview there is an optional filter available to mirror the image, but this is not permanent and does not affect any other applications using the webcam.
Does anyone have any ideas please? I'm hoping there's a filter I can apply in a config file to apply the filter permanently and across all applications.
