Hello.
I wanted to try out plymouth with lightdm, but I'm now afraid to restart my computer. I have lightdm-plymouth service enabled (along with plymouth itself) and it gave me a strange message if I check the status of lightdm-plymouth.
lightdm-plymouth.service: Two services allocated for the same bus name org.freedesktop.DisplayManager, refusing operation.
I guess I'm out of luck? I found this, I'm assuming I'll be locked out since the service fails.
Edit: I never figured out what exactly was causing the messages, but it all worked out anyway.

do you disable lightdm.service first?
Well, I suppose that this is somekind of signature, no?

I'm pretty sure I did. I just finished reversing all changes so I'd be using just plain lightdm without plymouth. However, now when I check the status of plain old lightdm I'm getting the same message. I just noticed also, that a status check of lightdm-plymouth shows this:
Loaded: error (Reason: File exists)
I tried setting up plymouth once before, it looks like maybe there is an old file causing problems?
Edit: This would make sense to me... perhaps it was giving me error messages since I was currently logged into a lightdm session?

I decided to ignore the messages and rebooted, everything works fine with a plymouth setup!
