Lxde mouse sensitivity keeps resetting

I set it to max slider in the preference> keyboard and mouse in the kxde settings and it was nowhere near enough. So I cranked up mouse acceleration and that made it ok. However usually after doing some mouse work it will suddenly forget the settings and revert back to the sluggish defaults. If I go back to those settings and press ok it refreshes them.

So firstly how to prevent this from happening but also can I set the sensitivity higher in some settings file which is beyond the max in  the lxde slider? so then I wouldnt need acceleration. Not A biggy but I recall reading and from my fps days that its smoother without acceleration. Either way Im not too bothered since I only use it for browser work not; just want whatever results to stick.

Any insights on this? The issue is related to the power I think because when I move the mouse cord it seems to disrupt the power and reset the mouse causing the acceleration settings to be lost. It also happens when I don't move the mouse at random times.

I'm on LXDE also, and I use xset in Xinitrc. You can try to use that.
