Optirun / Nvidia - Refreshing Time Issue

Hello,

Since few days i'm encountering issues of refreshing time with some graphic applications with my graphic card (GTX970M), like firefox, skype, ...

I found out that when I'm using optirun with graphic test applications (glxgears, fire) the refreshing time is slower, while the displayed FPS on logs still good.

$ glxgears
Running synchronized to the vertical refresh. The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.
303 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.492 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.019 FPS

$ optirun glxgears
2389 frames in 5.0 seconds = 477.735 FPS
2422 frames in 5.0 seconds = 484.237 FPS

Another thing to point out is that when I'm moving the mouse, graphic application works great.
And the problem does not happen when logged as root.

Do you have any clue about this problem ?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Optirun / Nvidia - Refreshing Time Issue

I don't understand what is the problem. I have same output on optirun glxgears and everything works fine, the refreshing time is the same but it seems that applications running on nvidia card aren't limited to the display refresh rate, this is why glxgears displays those high fps.

Re: Optirun / Nvidia - Refreshing Time Issue

Yes the FPS seems being good in terminal but the real thing doesn't work at all.
At first I though it might be my wm, but with different of them (i3, openbox), it still freeze while i don't move my mouse or I have wait about 5 seconds to have a renew of the display.
