Annoying problem when pasting text into Terminator terminal window

Very often when I paste text to the terminal window (I am using Terminator) unneeded symbols are also pasted at the beginning and at the end of the text: 0~ 1~
Which encloses the text and it simply spoils the paste, because I always have to position back and delete the unneeded symbols. What to do to stop this annoying behaviour?

I read that as "not always", soo... where do you copy the problematic text from? Perhaps there is formatting in there (e.g. if you copy from an Office suite application).
If not, have you tried pasting the problematic text in other terminal applications (e.g. urxvt or a VTE-based terminal like Sakura, xfce-terminal, ...)?

Re: Annoying problem when pasting text into Terminator terminal window

This bug is explained here in details: https://www.midnight-commander.org/ticket/3207
It is the so-called bracketed paste mode. But I don't know exactly what packages should I install to get rid of it (it is very annoying!)

Re: Annoying problem when pasting text into Terminator terminal window

the said bug was reported for gnome terminal and it is fixed now, as per your link. Probably mc with terminator still have the bug. You may try some other terminal to see if you get the same bug.

Too bad: unable to paste current filename with Alt+Enter, simply doesn't work. Sakura is simple but effective, works well. My only problem is the colors. How can I set them? I prefer traditional green on black.

You can right-click on Sakura to get to the options and specify the colors.

Re: Annoying problem when pasting text into Terminator terminal window

Yes, I know, I have found a good config file too https://github.com/ellysh/linux-configs … akura.conf
But the problem is I can't edit the colors of the standard Linux palette. This palette is basically good for me, except brown and dark-blue colors. Those are barely visible on my CRT monitor, and I like to set them orange and lighter blue. This applies to Midnight Commander, txt files are brown - barely visible. And Ruby REPL called Pry, some syntax tokens are brown, others are dark blue, I can't see them clearly, what is too bad for coding. Now I tried RoxTerm and it is fairly good.
