Hi. I'm not sure what caused this, but on Saturday after updating packages with pacman, I noticed that the menu bar in some of my apps looks different (e.g. Konsole) than they did before (e.g. Firefox Nightly). I thought maybe this might just have happened for KDE apps, but it is happening in QMapShack as well (which is Qt5-based, not specific to KDE). qtconfig-qt4 shows the menu bar properly and indicates "GTK+" as the style/theme. So I'm not sure what the issue is. I have tried installing qt5-styleplugins as described here as well as setting QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE to be 'gtk2'.

Update: Solved. Refer to https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=214147 which involves the same underlying issue and solutions.

Sorry about that..
I have been able to pinpoint this down to it happening in Qt5 applications and not Qt4 ones. I have qt5-styleplugins installed, and if I run
export QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE='gtk2'
in the terminal prior to executing a Qt5 application I get a segmentation fault whereas this does not happen if I do not set that variable.
Another user has reported the same issue, see convo at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/qt5-styleplugins
