AC power detected only at boot time

Hi,

I never managed to find time to troubleshoot the issue with power AC adapter connection state detection.
Few months ago AC power state stopped being detected "dynamically", on the fly if I can use that word. I have to reboot the laptop and only then AC adapter connection state is updated.
laptop HP elitebook 8470p
genuine HP battery
using tlp for power management

I don't know where to start and what to check, hereunder acpi -V output:
