TL;DR: When running 'dispwin -L ' in a terminal, the ICC profile loads without problems. When adding 'exec dispwin -L' to the i3 config, it does not work. Why?
(The '-L' argument loads the installed/current profile automatically)
What I have tried so far:
* Loading the profile with dispwin trough .xinitirc
* Loading the ICC profile directly by defining the path (dispwin /path/to/icc)
* Played around with different arguments of dispwin
* Adding the --no-startup-id in the config file
When running 'dispwin -L' in the terminal, the ICC profile even persist when exiting i3/X, as the ICC is loaded into the graphics hardware.
Is this problem related to how the i3 config file works, or something else?

Hello rsolva!
The instruction on how to load a ICC Profile is in the arch wiki, here.
