Couldn't find matching GLX visual

Dear all,

I installed the package armagetronad in order to run this game. However, when I try to start it, it says

[chrisd@deskie ~]$ armagetronad
Trying to start sound. Just restart Armagetron Advanced in case of crash.

Sorry, played all my cards trying to initialize your video system.
Armagetron Advanced won't run on your computer. Reason:

Couldn't set video mode: Couldn't find matching GLX visual

I'll try again from the beginning, but the chances of success are minimal.

In order to solve this problem I installed the lib32-nvidia-libgl package in addition to the package nvidia-libgl that I already had. This, however, does not solve the problem. lspci tells me I have an "VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation G92 [GeForce 9800 GT] (rev a2)" so I guess that would be the right package to install. Any ideas? This game used to work on my previous linux installation.

All the best,
Chris

Re: Couldn't find matching GLX visual

In the meantime I have found what the problem was. I found the wiki page https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA which explains that I actually do need the 340xx drivers for my video card. So, I uninstalled the old ones and installed the 340xx instead and now it works.
