This is in AUR atm, but trying to build it produces:

My system is entirely up to date.

Anyone fancy giving this a shot?

lol, i c; I assumed it would tell me it's a dependency if I needed a package installing!

it should indeed go into makedepends. You may want to notify the maintainer

I've been getting that annoying error too with some PKGBUILDs. I thought I had to "export PKG_CONFIG=" or something. Finally I know the solution!
