I am trying to use Foxitreader because acroread crashes (even with the patch/workarounds mentioned in other thread), and Xpdf sucks a bit (it lacks most of the useful stuff).
The problem is I can't see the tabs when I try to open multiple documents (I know they are there because if I close the last doc I get the confirmation box and the previous doc is rendered). I cannot find anyone mentioning this issue, and all the suggestions involve multiple instances (instead of tabs) but the corresponding "Preferences" section ("Documents") is not there.
Did anyone experience this before? How can I either switch between tabs (it would be nice to be able to see actually how many are open and which) or open multiple instances?

Sorry, I can't help you with the concrete problem.
But I have a suggestion: I used to use PDFXChange in wine for manipulating PDFs.
It's some time ago, i used it last time, but it worked quite nice.
It was PDF-XChange Viewer v2.5.xxx
As far as i remember, i even had a PKGBUILD for it. If you want, i can search it.
