GIMP itself has not had an update for a few weeks, but after updating the system today, I cannot open gimp.
All I get is Segmentation fault (core dumped).
I suspect a LibGL package or something is incompatible, as I already tried downgrading, re-upgrading, and even reinstalling GIMP.
If anyone knows where the core dump is, or what package has to be downgraded I would greatly appreciate it.
*****SOLUTION: I was using a GIMP custom theme. I had to set the gtk theme to Adwaita and change GIMP to the default theme because now it cooperates with and uses gtk themes.*****

GIMP version 2.8.16-2, 64-bit. Only other ever used on my system is 2.8.16-1.
Tried rebooting a few times, didn't work.
Update: Okay, what the ----, it works when I run gimp as root. My gtk theme may be causing the issue...
Update 2: Yup. Had to use Adwaita theme for it to work initially.
