I'm trying to restore my backup on a headless server, but, for some reason, I can't get CrashPlanDesktop to start.
If I run "CrashPlanDesktop" nothing happens except that I get another prompt immediately, I If run "ps -ef | grep java" I get the following result:
paul 15408 1 99 19:15 pts/1 00:00:06 /usr/bin/java -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -Dapp=CrashPlanDesktop -DappBaseName=CrashPlan -Xms20m -Xmx512m -Dsun.net.inetaddr.ttl=300 -Dnetworkaddress.cache.ttl=300 -Dsun.net.inetaddr.negative.ttl=0 -Dnetworkaddress.cache.negative.ttl=0 -Dc42.native.md5.enabled=false -Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.DefaultType=mozilla -classpath ./lib/com.backup42.desktop.jar:./lang:./skin com.backup42.desktop.CPDesktop
but only for a few seconds - if I run it again after a few moments it only show the grep process.
There is nothing in either of the logs (ui_output.log, ui_error.log) in /opt/crashplan/logs.
I'm baffled as to what to even look at next. I'm not getting a splash screen - even briefly and the -Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.DefaultType=mozilla is already in my run.conf.

Nevermind - it turns out that you need that crashplan service running locally - I didn't expect that...
