Hi
I am taking over a project from a colleague.
There's a script running which invokes "avconv".
I've tried to search the internet looking how to install avconv on arch linux.
Most results were out-of-date, e.g. mentioning a libav-git on AUR which isn't available any more.
Anyone knows how to install avconv on arch linux?
I'd rather not like to have to change everything to use ffmpeg.
Thanks.

I would want to have to use avconv as much as I would want a toothpaste stain on my pants.
By the time you try to install avconv you could "pacman -S ffmpeg" and fix your script to use ffmpeg instead of neutered avconv (one reason why nobody around here uses avconv). It would have the added benefit of not having to maintain the special avconv package...and the benefit of not having to use avconv.
Paste your script if you need suggestions or help doing so.

hey guys, thanks for chiming in
@DrZaius that's what I end up doing. I realized it's doing exactly the same with the same params. Furthermore, it's on my dev machine, so I only need to change it here
@0x29a as a matter of fact I didn't install it anymore, but I wonder, if avconv is in libav-git-no-libs, this just means I still do not know how to properly look up/query/search packages on arch....

Check out pkgfile - platinum package. Extremely useful.
Unfortunately, when it comes to AUR, you're on your own and you need to read the sources/pkgbuilds to figure out what's in there. ( AFAIK )
