[SOLVED] Sound stopped working after installing qt4

My sound was working perfectly fine, then I installed the qt4 repository and everything, but vlc no longer has sound. This is my 2nd day using linux so i don't have enough knowledge to troubleshoot this. I'm using a device that is under DigiHug USB Audio.

Here's a list of things I've already tried.
Removing qt4
Seeing if anything was muted in alsamixer
Making sure I have pulseaudio
Checking to see if I have an asound.conf file

What is your sound output module in the VLC preferences? Do you have "High Definition Audio Controller Digital Stereo" or "Internal Audio Analogue Stereo" or similar?

It's set to automatic and I don't have any of those options

ALSA audio output is the only thing that gives me drop down menus. It lets me choose between pulseaudio sound servers,  HDA intel PCH,  HDA nvidia hdmi, or DigiHug USB options.

Then ther might be something wrong with VLC. Did yoou install it via pacman?

You "should" have at least some options of these below:

Automatic
Pulseaudio Adio Output
ALSA Audio Output
Jack Audio Output
File Audio Output
Audio Memory Output
Dummy Audio Output
Disable

Under "Output modules" that is, in advanced settings

Re: [SOLVED] Sound stopped working after installing qt4

Oh, sorry I was looking for devices. I have pulseaudio, alsa, dummy, audio memory, file audio and disable. I used yaourt to install vlc. My gui's and web browsers audio worked fine with vlc installed until i used yaourt to install qt4 so vlc was functionable. VLC is the only thing I get audio from.

Oh, sorry, my bad. I read that sound is working but in VLC. It's the other way around.

No problem. Thanks for the help. I got it working. I'm guessing a conf file was messed up somewhere. For anyone else that has this issue the fix was running pulseaudio --start, then get pavucontrol  and change the output device to DigiHug USB. Changing it in the alsa mixer wasnt working.
