Libre calc freezes on language/locale screen

Hello,

I have a problem with libre calc (libreoffice-fresh package).
Every time I try to open for example .csv file it freezes my whole system for about a minute and then I am kicked back to login screen. My session is lost. I use SDDM and plasma 5.

I did some testing and it seems that locale settings drop-down list which appears when opening csv is the issue. The system freezes exactly at that moment and the locale name is unreadable. What's more, when I open a clean libre calc (new document) it opens without problems, but when I go to the language settings where the locale drop-down list appears - it freezes just like when opening csv.

When I install libreoffice-still package it works without problems.
Also, purging config files and reinstalling libreoffice-fresh doesn't help (if all the files I need to purge are in .config directory).

Do you know any way to fix this issue and use libreoffice-fresh?

Re: Libre calc freezes on language/locale screen

LibO has a history of bugs related to using GPU acceleration. Try disabling hardware acceleration and/or OpenGL (Tools → Options… → LibreOffice → View → Graphics Output) and see if it helps.

Also report the issue to upstream.

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, turning off the hardware acceleration didn't help. I reported this bug upstream.

Remember to attach the log of what libreoffice produces:

soffice --calc &>libreoffice.log
