Dear all,
I have an Epson XP-332 printer at home which is working for my wifes OS X and iOS devices. However I cant get it working under Arch. For all the Epson printers listed, my model is not in the drivers database and I have tried the default foomatic driver, but it prints all over the page and is not usable. I have also tried printing from my Ubuntu 16.04 install but it looks like the same drivers database which doesnt list the XP-332.
Has anyone got this model running under Linux? I would be very grateful!
Aaron

Is it really Brother's printer? Which one (please add link to this product)? There isn't such model as XP-332 on Brother's page, but there is Epson's printer XP-332.

Hi pb,
Thanks so much for your reply - yes it's an Epson not a Brother :-)
(Im getting mixed up with a Brother I installed for some friends on their network, and got it working under Ubuntu 14 and Zorin)
I will update the thread title.

According to: http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/searc … archModule and https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/epso … ter-escpr/, you should install that package from AUR and if you want to have printer utility you should make pkg.tar.xz from rpm/deb/src.rpm. For scanner - iscan should be suitable.

Hi pb,
Ok I have downloaded the PKGBUILD file and run 'makepkg' and I have:
- epson-inkjet-printer-escpr-1.6.5-1lsb3.2.tar.gz
- epson-inkjet-printer-escpr-1.6.5-1-x86_64.pkg.tar
- pkg
- PKGBUILD
+ src
+ usr
This is now the extent to my Arch knowledge What do I need to do from here?

Hi jasonwryan,
I have read the wiki page you linked - thanks for that! Arch is a new world for me so it's nice to learn how it works. Cool that it builds and resolves dependencies with pacman . Ok. I have run 'makepkg -sri' and allowed the install. I guess I can go ahead and add my printer, it will find the driver now and everything will work fine? I am at work now, will try this when I get home, and give you all an update. Thanks again.

Just type:
localhost:631
in your browser and add printer or use GUI (see: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/CU … plications). It should works.

Dear all,
The printer works great! I added it through the settings GUI in Cinnamon. Thanks so much for your input and helping a noob along in his Arch journey.
