I just installed metasploit on my new Arch box, successfully, I might add. Yet when I try and load a module, it tells me that it failed to load. I try:
use auxiliary/scanner/mysql/mysql/mysql_authbpyass_hashdump
And get this:
[-] Failed to load module: auxiliary/scanner/mysql/mysql/mysql_auth_bypass
After messing around for awhile I realized something crucial:
=[ metasploit v4.10.0-2014081301 [core:4.10.0.pre.2014081301 api:1.0.0]]
+ -- --=[ 0 exploits - 0 auxiliary - 0 post ]
+ -- --=[ 0 payloads - 0 encoders - 0 nops ]
+ -- --=[ Free Metasploit Pro trial: http://r-7.co/trymsp ]
It has nothing of anything. Everything is 0. So obviously that is a huge problem right now. I imagine it has something to do with paths, but honestly, every time I've ever tried to install metasploit on my own it acts like this. Even if it installs successfully it doesn't work.
Also, when I first run msfconsole I see this first:
fatal: Not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git
I do not know what it means and Google is lacking in results on this matter.

Hi xworld. I know your topic is from 2012, and I think that you have solved your issue. In case of not, I'll answer you. Try installing metasploit from Blackarch's repository. First download blackarch.org/strap.sh and execute it, you should have installed blackarch's repos. Remove the issued metasploit package by executing <<< pacman -R metasploit-framework >>> (as root) . Now execute <<< pacman -S metasploit-framework >>> (as root). Sorry for my bad English, I'm italian -_-'
