I am trying to install Windows 10 using KVM.
I am using this script: https://gist.github.com/brendenyule/171 … c1035c935f
When I try to run this script, I get these errors:
Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused
WARNING: Image format was not specified for '/home/doctorly/virtio-win.iso' and probing guessed raw.
Automatically detecting the format is dangerous for raw images, write operations on block 0 will be restricted.
Specify the 'raw' format explicitly to remove the restrictions.
pulseaudio: pa_context_connect() failed
pulseaudio: Reason: Connection refused
pulseaudio: Failed to initialize PA contextaudio: Could not init `pa' audio driver
gtk initialization failed
My end goal is doing a PCI passthrough of both my GPU and sound card. I am trying to get the machine running at all first.
I also get similar results with a very simple Arch setup.
I am using this command
qemu-system-x86_64 -cdrom ~/Downloads/archlinux-2016.07.01-dual.iso -boot order=d -drive file=~/Downloads/arch,format=raw
Which returns:
Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused
gtk initialization failed

Not a Sysadmin issue, moving to NC...

I solved this. The issue was with xorg. I didn't realize I couldn't run it headless with this setup.
