It is a software sampler that uses, Gigasampler (.gig) and Akai samples. There are 3 essential components that need to be installed:
libgig-2.0.1 -- Gigasampler file loader library
liblscp-0.3.1 -- LinuxSampler Control Protocol (LSCP) wrapper library
linuxsampler-0.3.3 -- sampler backend
and an optional front end:
qsampler-0.1.2
I can install it with ./configure but the PKGBUILD would be a much nicer way to go.
Thanks.

I'm having a look at it, but the site's downlad links aren't working. I can get libgig from the lead dev's site here, and qsampler has it's own sf site, but liblscp and the sampler itself are only available fron linuxsampler.org.
I've mailed them to let them know. As soon as I have anything, I'll post it here.

They've had a problem with their server, which is being fixed at the moment. Downloads will be available again next week.
I'll use their CVS to prepare the PKGBUILDS, so I can post them as soon as the tarballs are back up.

Update - the tarballs are still unavailable, so if anyone needs this in a hurry, I'd suggest asking the devs - nicely, of course.:)

It seems tarballs are still down.

Yeah, I've been trying them every few days. I'm getting the feeling that the project is a bit dormant - the latest news item, about their hardware problems, is dated 22 December last. Hopefully, they'll be able to get going again.

Gave this another try, and guess what? The tarballs are there for the taking. ![]()
Unfortunately
, linuxsampler does not want to play with gcc4 - it's already in their bugzilla.
So we wait - again ......... ![]()
