[SOLVED]Ejecting or detaching Segate Expansion Drive

Hi,

I own a Segate expansion drive, and when I detach it (using udisks --detach /dev/sdx) it successfully detaches, but after a few seconds it connect back.
How do I unmount and shutdown the disk ?

thanx for help.

Use `--unmount`.

If I  use --unmount before  --detach but the disk still doesn't shutdown, it re attaches.

Some disks do that. I suppose windows does something differently and they stop "properly" but not on linux.

What I usually do in those cases is unmount then issue 'hdparm -Y /dev/sdX' and unplug the disk after it stops spinning.
