After I upgraded to linux 4.6.2-1 my screen flickers. I noticed that flickering stops while moving the mouse or while typing on keyboard. Things look normal after kernel downgrade.
Any easy hacks, or should I wait for next version of the kernel?

Turn up the brightness: by chance a grey dot pattern too? Welcome to the club: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=214032 .

Yeah, that ol' gray pattern. Thanks for the club invitation.
Changing brightness doesn't help. I won't upgrade the kernel until the problem is solved, since all my text editors are dark themed.

Just moved to 4.6.4-1 and problem is still there. Anyone else stuck with this annoying s!#t?
Also, problem seems to appear only on laptop screen and not on other connected monitors through VGA or DP.

I have exactly the same problem. I've read somewhere, that it should be fixed in the kernel 4.7, which should enter the testing repository soon. For now, I use linux-lts (kernel 4.4.x), where the problem does not appear.
