Hello,
I was trying to install the AUR dosbox-* packages, which require the AUR openglide-cvs package. Unfortunately, when it came to compiling openglide-cvs, it keeps giving me the error: "A failure occurred in prepare()". This issue was reported in the package's comments months ago with no reply... Any idea what that means and how to troubleshoot it?? Thank you.

That package hasn't been updated in years. Anyway, post the full output of
makepkg -s openglide-cvs

Thanks for your reply, the output I get is:

So is that some sort of connection problem connecting to sourceforge during the prepare() process? I'm not experiencing any Internet access problems with installing other AUR packages, would it still be a problem on my end? Thanks!

Yes, it seems to be a connection problem. It could only be specific to the CVS service running there. Are you able to open http://openglide.cvs.sourceforge.net in the browser? If yes, then the problem might be with the server itself. If not, then maybe the problem is at your end.
Edit: I just ran the cvs command manually, and I was able to connect to the server just fine.

Hi,
I was able to access http://openglide.cvs.sourceforge.net in the browser, so I don't know why the makepkg command fails... Then I tried manually running each command in the prepare() section of the PKGBUILD file with a copy of the openglide source from that URL and it worked! So now I finally have the openglide-cvs package installed. Thank you for your help!
