At work, I VNC into a Linux machine that has dwm-6.0 running. Even though the output is to two monitors, the xrandr settings treats the two screens as one big composite screen. This is all fine and well, but when little dialogs are opened they open up in the middle of the two screens:
+-----------+-----------+
| | |
| | |
| +--+--+ |
| 1 | fo|o | 2 |
| +--+--+ |
| | |
| | |
+-----------+-----+-----+ I'm still learning how to fine-tune dwm, so I'm having trouble locating where the position of the new dialog windows are placed. I'd like to have it in the center of either the left or right window (so instead of 1/2 over the span, maybe have it appear 1/4 or 3/4 over the span).
Thanks in advance!

You can modify
void manage(Window w, XWindowAttributes *wa)to achieve what you want.
Use c->isfloating and the x, y, w, h to change the window geometry. Distinguish monitors by using selmon and c->mon. That would affect all kinds of floating windows though. The dimensions of the monitors are kept in struct Monitor. The variable names (mx, my, mw, mh etc) are straightforward to understand and documented where necessary.
No idea if there is a preexisting patch. There doesn't seem to be a gravity setting in the default config.h which would glue floaters to one screen.
