Evince lacks normal window frame (using icewm)

I use icewm.  All GUI software I run works great (or not, but the details are off-topic).   Except: Evince.  I use Evince to view PDF files.  If fresh off the WWW, I view PDF in a web browser, but often I save files, or make my own PDF files, and then I view with Evince.  Evince used to be a fine PDF viewer. I've used it for years.   But...  suddenly one day, maybe a year ago or longer, Evince appeared without the normal window frame with a title bar, button for the menu offering Move, Size, MInimize, etc and an 'X' button at the right and the other usual paraphernalia which icewm provides.

Except Evince!   It shows up bare, no-framed.  I can't resize or move it unless "I'm feeling lucky" and can hit the one-pixel-wide border.   I can't Lower the Evince behind other windows (z-ordering), or move it to another workspace, or do any other window managing, because the normal WM's menu doesn't show.   Luckily I have something running to allow alt-drag to resize and move windows.

Evince seems to want to imitate its own windows manager. It shows an 'X' and maximize button, which work, but that's all (or maybe there are some other small details I missed).   AFIK, I don't have any goofy settings in my icemw config files to make exceptions in dealing with Evince.

What the heck is going on?  How to give Evince a normal window frame under the window manager's control?

Note: I have not tried other windows managers or desktops such as KDE.  I do a lot of real-world work, lots of text editors, IDEs, 3D applications running 34-hour long renders, etc up all the time, so shutting down the windows manager or X11 is not practical except on rare occasions.

Install Atril.  It is a fork of Evince and Atril is gtk2 where Evince has now moved to gtk3.  What might be your problem is gtk3 has moved to "client side decorations," csd, and perhaps icewm is not liking that.

Ah, I heard of gtk3 back when Ubuntu put out their stupid "Unity" thing, and GTK had to imitate it, or somesuch.  I never liked Gnome, but gtk2 was okay.  I will try Atril.
