[SOLVED] mkinitcpio What boot message means initramfs pivoted to root

(Q1) At what point on the boot messages has the initramfs completed?  (I'm wondering if it's the "Welcome to Arch Linux!" line.)

(Q2) If you upgrade the lvm2 package and am using the lvm2 mkinitcpio early, late, and cleanup hooks, does that mean you should re-run mkinitcpio?  Doesn't look like it does this automatically.

Q1 : when it mounts the real root rw, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_boot_process

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)

Ok, switch_root is called after the last ":: running cleanup hook" message, and just before the "Welcome to Arch Linux!" boot message.
