Hey guys,
I'm trying to install VMPlayer 12 on my copy of Arch and I messed up the initial set up. When it asked for the service script directory, I accidentally put in /etc/init.d/vmware instead of just /etc/init.d
It doesn't run but I uninstalled it fine. However, when I tried to reinstall, it doesn't ask my to choose the directory anymore.
How do I go and reset that?
Thanks

How did you install, how did you uninstall?

When you uninstall, double check that /etc/vmware/config has been removed before reinstalling (or just remove all vmware directories in /etc).

I had the same problem, I must say i bashed my head a lot on that on, to fix,
sudo nano /etc/vmware/config
and change the line in your case initscriptdir = ''/etc/init.d/vmware'' to
initscriptdir = "/etc/init.d"
save file and run vmware. man that was a struggle to find XD. a big thx to WorMzy for telling me the config directory. could not have done it without him. so just editing the config file wroks really well..
