[SOLVED] libreoffice impress 5.1 -- problem with video and audio files

I cannot successfully load video or audio files onto a slide. On occasion they will load but will not play and/or the program freezes. I have no problem doing the same with impress on Fedora 23 (also 5.1). Do I need to install codecs? I'm not sure whether video and audio files could be loaded with Impress 4.0 since I have only recently tried to include multimedia with an Impress slide presentation (I do a pacman update on a daily basis).

I do not know if it is too late, but if you have not solved the problem this can serve

#pacman -S gst-libav gst-plugins-{base,good,bad,ugly} gstreamer-vaapi

Thanks, kabbalah. I actually had given up. Whenever I need to use impress I  use Fedora 24.

I will try out your suggestion in the near future and will let you know how it works.

kabbalah, thanks a million! I installed the programs you suggested and impress plays the video and audio files. I well let you know if I encounter any freezes, etc.

You have solved my problem!
