'boost' package have been outdated for 3 months

The maintainer seems to be on military work.

We have to take action since other distributions are starting the plan, and on Arch I can't see any progress.
Boost is widely used and requires a major rebuild, but currently no one is trying to do it.

Any plan on this?

Have you tried to contacting the maintainer? Nearly 100 packages in the official repo depend directly on Boost — it’s quite possible something is being broken by the update, and devs may need help with that.

Sometimes I seem a bit harsh — don’t get offended too easily!

@mpan - repeating, he's on military work and doesn't have the time. I couldn't even contact him.

Then the package will be updated when he comes back, although Evangelos Foutras is not the maintainer. You can try Bartłomiej Piotrowski, as he isn't away as far as I know and he is the official maintainer.

I tried it locally in a test chroot. Not everything that compiled against boost 1.60.0 will compile with the new release.
Fedora is also still at 1.60.0 though they are probably waiting till after F25.
