New install. failed to train DP error?

Just installed Arch on my ThinkPad laptop with Intel HD Graphics and plasma 5.7. I am receiving this message on boot:

 [drm:intel_dp_start_link_train [i915]] *ERROR* failed to train DP, aborting

Kernel 4.7 and xf86-video-intel installed. No external monitor connected.

Your help is greatly appreciated.
