SDDM shows black screen until I switch to another tty and then back

SDDM is suddenly having this odd issue: when it starts, all I can see is a black screen, but if I switch to another tty and switch right back, SDDM is there. Anyone have this happen, and have a clue what could be going on?

That doesn't sound like my problem. Once I get SDDM to appear, and I type in my login, it transitions quite smoothly into the Plasma desktop. It's just, when I boot into Arch Linux, and SDDM loads (I assume, in the background)... I can't see a damn thing until I do the switch-n-switch.
