[SOLVED] Iceweasel missing

Hello guys.
So, today i searched for iceweasel in AUR Web interface and in cower and couldn't find it. I use it as my main browser and was looking for an update, but instead i'm surprised by it's apparent absence. I tried searching for news here on the forums and found nothing.

Will the package come back again? Or was it purged from AUR for any reason(on purpose)?

Why would you expect to find a Debian-branded piece of software in the Arch User Repo?

Well, it just was until yesterday i think... I expected it to be there yet. Also the maintainer was planning on using the parabola's builds instead, not sure if it would mean change on naming/branding.

Anyway, could branding have anything to do with Iceweasel not being on AUR anymore, then?

Re: [SOLVED] Iceweasel missing

How long have you had it installed?  Was it from before the transition to AUR 4?

IIRC, yes. I'm using it for a long time now, and can't precisely recall when first installed it, but it was before the AUR transition. About rules of submission, the only thing i think maybe could be a problem is that in the last update there was a dependency conflict between it and libvpx. But probably not something that breaks the rules.

Edit:Looked in /var/log/pacman.log and actually in my actual install of Arch, i first installed iceweasel one month after the transition to git.

Re: [SOLVED] Iceweasel missing

Iceweasel is no more sad

I could try to write a PKGBUILD for xul-ext-iceweasel-branding if there's any interest.

Alternatively, use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo … -branding/

Re: [SOLVED] Iceweasel missing

To clarify - firefox itself is, finally, in Debian, so there's no need for Debian to have an iceweasel package.

Re: [SOLVED] Iceweasel missing

Got it, thanks people. I aso liked the iceweasel package because it was an easy way to get a native "mtuned" own build of Firefox. Will get it through other way now. I actually knew the Debian thing but i thought that the maintaner would be getting the parabola src, as i saw in the comments section of the AUR package then, and as it continued to be updated i didn't even mind the ESR thing. Seems like the new ESR Firefox got it's way into Debian.
