Hey all.
I have a music directory in /srv where ncmpcpp can connect to and play songs just fine ... at least until recently. I don't know what the problem is, it still reads the songs but if I try to play anything it immediately skips to the next song on the playlist and continues all the way to the bottom not actually playing anything? I usually have a local mpd setup and have never run into issues with that, but I wanted to set up a system wide one because I had added a user, and I have plans to use one of, or both Samba and NFS to share music across the network.
This is an odd issue and hope someone can point me in the right direction. I suspect maybe it was a change in mpd or ncmpcpp that made it necessary to give the files certain permissions or something?

post mpd.conf, permissions of your music directory and verbose log output (to see if mpd actually loads the correct config file)
Also: how exactly do you start mpd.

Yes... this question makes me worry.
Edit: This looks like the likely reason, I guess I'll wait until the bug is squashed.

I did notice an MPD update and tried playing a song, and it still wouldn't work. However, as of today after doing a system update, ffmpeg got updated and now everything is working flawlessly again.
