How to change cursor shape in vim within lxterminal?

Greetings,

I'm trying to configure lxterminal and vim for using different cursor shapes for Insert and Normal mode, but the receipt I could find doesn't work. It's not for lxterminal specifically, but for VTE terminals in general. Adding these lines to .vimrc doesn't work:

let &t_SI .= "\<Esc>[6 q"
let &t_EI .= "\<Esc>[4 q"
let &t_SR .= "\<Esc>[2 q"

Search in the Internet hasn't given any results on this topic. Are there ways to dynamically switch cursor shape in lxterminal?
