[Wayland] Issue with video players on GNOME 3.20

Hello, I installed Arch yesterday with Wayland to replace Xorg because I had a lot of tearing. But I have got 2 new problems.

* with the default video player in GNOME 3.20 :
When I launch a video, the default video player is like that (without bugs) : http://i.imgur.com/08xhro7.png
Once I put the video in full screen I have a gray stripe at the top : http://i.imgur.com/muzO7FV.png
When I leave the full-screen mode, gray stripe is at the bottom : http://i.imgur.com/h4ATmLy.png

* with VLC 2.2.4 :
After a few time, the X server is downed and I end up on the login screen. I have qt4 installed (VLC needs it), maybe it's the problem...
I found this ticket that matches my bug : https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/16750
But I dont find the solution to fix it.

In VLC's logs there is a fatal error :
vlc: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.

Could you help me ?

Thank you ;-)

Re: [Wayland] Issue with video players on GNOME 3.20

Hi

First :
Totem (gnome video player) is someway buggy, wayland or not, depending on context and formats used.
VLC is a mess, the UI sucks,  wayland or not.

I was using mpv before my wayland switch, but since it doesn't include any toolkits it cannot draw window decorations and have the kind of bugs we can see on your screens

Try gnome-mpv, you will get imho the best video player from now with wayland : the power and efficiency of mpv with a nice gnome UI.

And be happy with wayland, saying goodbye to video tearing and flickering : I have spended 20 years fighting it on xorg. I love wayland
