I've setup bumblebee with Nvidia drivers (370.23) to work with external monitor. However recently, external monitor has become extremely slow for some X application (however terminal and even graphical emacs seems fine). Everything else seems normal, I work with CUDA library and my programs seem to run with normal speed (like before), but external monitor is so slow that I cannot even scroll chrome or use some X applications (spotify, kodi). Please see the dmesg log below after I turned on my external monitor:

It seems like warning are of not too concern as in this github issue. Any suggestions or steps to debug the problem would be appreciated.
I'm also noticing that applications like Okular (pdf viewer), terminal emulator, Matlab, Hexchat are fine, but chromium, spotify (music player), kodi (media center) are all very slow and sluggish only on external monitor. I must also mention that, when I run some of my extensive CUDA scripts, even mouse pointer becomes very slow on external monitor and I cannot recall such behavior earlier.

I'm noticing that if I start an application using optirun then it works fine on external monitor (as well as primary display). So, if I open spotify using
optirun spotify
then it runs very smooth as before.
