Network Connectivity Lost

I have an Arch installation on a drive from a few years ago, with the 3.13-rt-lts kernel.  I thought I'd plug it in an run a pacman update to update the kernel and programs, but it was never going to be that easy.

The network connectivity was working fine before.  I thought the Intel driver on the motherboard might be too new, but it also didn't work on an older machine.

IP Link Show only shows 'lo' and Eth0 interface does not exist.  Jack Audio also does not connect (I don't know if that's related).

Thanks for your help (note: I'm at a relative beginner level here)

Re: Network Connectivity Lost

I don't know how old 3.13 is, but if you read the news items since you last updated, there are a couple of hurdles that you're unlikely to clear without discomfort.

You are probably better off just reinstalling.
