I've got here an old Acer Aspire One D255, which sports an Intel GMA 3150 integrated card.
Now, I know it's kind of an uphill battle, but I'd like to get video acceleration working on this thing - I've followed https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ha … celeration as best as I could, but I got stuck on this:
...# vainfo
error: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not set in the environment.
libva info: VA-API version 0.39.2
libva info: va_getDriverName() returns 0
libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib/dri/i915_drv_video.so
libva info: va_openDriver() returns -1
vaInitialize failed with error code -1 (unknown libva error),exit
I've got the kernel module i915 initialized and loaded, but I really don't know how to proceed from here. Thanks in advance!
edit: alternatively, though this is a bit out of scope - as storage isn't an issue, I could ask whether there is there a codec that's significantly low on processing power?

It looks as if your card does not support libva: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=136605, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ha … on#Support

Damn. No way of getting accelerated video there then?

From what it says here [1] it seems that card is not able to hardware decode anything that might be useful at this point in time.
