I installed, using pacaur, "compiz-core compiz-gtk ccsm" and the rest of the plugins minus emerald. From an old VM install I found there was a gtk-window-decorator but this time, using "sudo pacman -Ql compiz core compiz-gtk | grep bin" it wasn't built.
I'm also using lightdm with a custom .desktop that loads a script that has only 2 commands so far:
compiz --replace &
plank
The windows have no controls for now, besides some programs like chromium which is using the gtk theme. How can I use my gtk3 themes and not have to rely on emerald?

The name gtk-window-decorator is slightly misleading. The gtk-window-decorator does not use gtk themes, it uses metacity themes - when compiled with metacity support (otherwise it uses some internal fallback theme). I don't know why it's not getting built though. You'd have to ask the compiz-gtk maintainer.

Thanks. I just gave up and started using emerald. At least it's got a lot of nice themes.
