[SOLVED] Cinnamon freezes, uses 100% CPU every 30s for 0.5s

Standard arch installation. LightDM and Cinnamon installed.

As stated in the title, Cinnamon freezes every 30 seconds. It appears the process `cinnamon --replace` uses 100% CPU on one core during the freeze. All graphical animations/responses stop for about half a second to a full second.

How can I solve this issue or begin debugging it?

It can probably be easily replicated by a fresh arch installation, then using lightdm with gtk greeter and installing cinnamon.

Journal entries? Details of your machine: card, drivers etc? Xorg.log?

Alright figured it out.

Moved ~/.cinnamon to ~/.cinnamon-bak.

Was probably an issue with a previous version of ~/.cinnamon, since that folder has been around for quite some time.
