Hi all,
I'm running Arch on a Thinkpad X1 Yoga and it seems to work quite well apart from this issue: Firefox doesn't seem to care about my touchscreen at all. The touchpad works (I can scroll with two fingers in FF), the touchscreen works in other applications (I can scroll and pinch-to-zoom in evince, chrome and telegram). But when I drag my finger around over a Firefox window it just clicks-and-drags and selects a bunch of text
What I tried so far:
Starting Firefox with
MOZ_USE_XINPUT2=1 firefox
, setting
dom.w3c_touch_events.enabled
to 1 (default is 2)
and starting in safe mode.
I tried Firefox 48.0.2 from the repos and also directly from mozilla.org
I've never modified anything with regards to the touchscreen or touchpad system and have xf86-input-libinput installed. I'm currently running awesome 3.5.9 on Kernel 4.7.2-1.
While writing this post it occured to me to try a nightly build of Firefox (51.0a1 (2016-08-31)) and lo and behold it works when setting MOZ_USE_XINPUT2=1! So, I'm posting this here not as a question or plea for help but in the hope that it might help somebody else
TL;DR
Download nightly build of Firefox from https://nightly.mozilla.org/ and set the environment variable
export MOZ_USE_XINPUT2=1

More than a year later, searching libinput and firefox, this message helped me to enable pixel-precise scrolling on XPS 15 in firefox (I disabled smooth scrolling). Thank you, and I hope your touchscreen works today!

Even if it did help you, you shouldn't necrobump old threads. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … bumping.22
