Music players

Music players you should try:

* Rhythmbox
* Beep Media Player / Audacious
* Quod Libet
* Muine

for MPD:
* pygmy
* gmpc
* SharpMusic

(note that these are strictly my opinion)

Re: Music players

No amaroK eh?

Not that it matters, I'm all over my ncmpc-svn.

Re: Music players

Quod Libet ++

I love QL, and Ex Falso too. Ex Falso is the tagging program that comes with QL.  I didn't realize it at first, but Ex allows you to rename files based on their tags. It made organizing all my music a breeze.

Re: Music players

Easytag allows you to rename files based on their tags as well - actually, I think every decent tagging program ought to offer that ;-)

Just a lil' digression.

Incidentally, I sold my soul to amarok.

[embarassed] woopse! I didn't realize that [/embarassed]

I just checked out easy tag breifly, and Ex Falso seems a bit easier to use, although easytag might be a bit more powerful. Just my opinion though.

Re: Music players

I use Gmpc-svn. I just love it. But Pygmy,nvmpc and mpc are pretty cool too.

Re: Music players

Pygmy on top of mpd is my muscicplayer of choice. Pygmy just does exactly what I want - not more, not less. But Rhythmbox is quite nice as well. Gmpc looks nice, too, but it's just a bit too complicated for me. For tagging my music I use Easytag - very powerful yet easy to use.
