What are the good options for disk caching in Linux?

I want to increase the system performance.I have 8gb ram. I have already read https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Im … erformance and the booting one also.
I know about preload https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Preload

Are there any software which automatically choose which files are frequently used and cache them?

I know Linux does it by default but it doesn't store everything even when RAM is available. And it keeps only few last used files. It isn't very powerful or predictive.

The more things you cache the more time it takes to determine if what you need you is already cached or not .
Sometimes this can result in performance degradation because of extensive caching.

Having said that, you can achieve good results with graysky's profile-sync-daemon and anything-sync-daemon .

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)
