I'm trying to get DockBarX to run, and am getting the above issue. Full error:
# dockx
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/dockx", line 36, in <module>
from Xlib import display
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/Xlib/display.py", line 26, in <module>
from six import create_unbound_method
ImportError: No module named sixI've looked around and tried installing various AUR packages named six (pypy-six, which doesn't do anything for me, and python-six, which is apparently already installed), and tried using pip to reinstall six (which didn't work).

Your error shows that dockx is running under python2 so you need to install python2-six.

Um, you do realize that is a python2 application, as evidenced both by the package dependencies and the traceback you just posted?
So obviously enough, you need the python2 version of the "six" package... (since it does, after all, need to run within your python2 environment.)
...
Also, post a comment on the AUR page for dockbarx mentioning that python2-six needs to be a dependency of the package, because as it is now it is apparently broken... which is something the maintainer should know about!
EDIT: Actually, since the problem is with python2-xlib (in community), report a bug on the bugtracker.

Fair enough. Didn't even come to mind that python-six would be for Python3. Thanks.

The python-xlib pkgbase in community has python{,2}-setuptools as a makedepends, which in turn depends on python{,2}-six (via python{,2}-packaging)... but it isn't a depends for having it installed, which means you might not have python{,2}-six installed when installing it from the repos rather than building it yourself. ![]()
Unless you have something else entirely, which happens to depend on python{,2}-six... it isn't an uncommon package.
But python{,2}-xlib should directly depend on it, for sure.
