I have used BSPWM with two monitors successfully before, but after changing one of the monitors I got some issues. Before changing the screen, I had one DVI-D monitor, which was my secondary monitor, and one DVI-I monitor, which was my main monitor. With this setup, everything was working fine, the DVI-I was correctly and automatically regarded as the main monitor, so panel etc. were working without issues. Now I have a different setup, I have a DVI-D monitor which is supposed to be the primary monitor, and a DVI-I monitor, which is my secondary monitor, located right of it. If I don't specify anything, the DVI-I is still (now incorrectly) regarded as my main monitor. To change that, I use
xrandr --output DVI-D-0 --primary --auto --output DVI-I-0 --right-of DVI-D-0in my bspwmrc. The monitor setup is now correctly recognized in xrandr (as in the primary monitor is the DVI-D one, and the DVI-I one is right to it), but unfortunately solving it this way gives me problems with my panel (which is just the standard panel from the bspwm examples). I have exactly the same issues as this guy, but the named solutions don't work for me, and also it states that this problem was caused due to a bug that was fixed two years ago (I'm on the newest bspwm-git). The only way I get everything to work correctly is by booting up with only my main monitor plugged in, waiting until I see the GDM screen, and then pluging in my second monitor. Any help would be appreciated.
