I am experiencing the same issue. I am using a VirtIO disk, OVMF for the UEFI firmware and the normal Display/Video Spice/QXL combo.
EDIT: The error has something to do with qxl although I do not know what.
EDIT 2: Switching the 'Video' 'Model' to 'Virtio' fixed/worked around the problem.

Thanks for your reply!
Yes. Setting Video Model to 'Virtio' fixed the issue for me too. I am getting the following error on bootup but only once.
[ 1.696234] intel_rapl: no valid rapl domains found in package 0
However it is not causing any issue so far.

I have tried to install a virtual machine (arch) into gnome boxes. But that failed.
I have got the message: Buffer eviction failed. etc.
I have noticed that there were other users with the same problem and to cure this problem was : set the video mode; to Virtio and not to qxl
but how and where can I do that, in which configuration file ?
I am newly here and my English is not so good but I hope it is understandable
I am using Linux mint (the latest and gnome boxes version 3.18.1 )

This seems to be on the border of not an Arch Issue. We don't support Linux Mint. If the problem is getting something set on a Boxes configuration running on a Linux Mint machine, then this is not an Arch issue and not supported here. If you are asking about how to configure Arch to use a specific video driver/model, then I would start by searching the Wiki.

Install virt-manage, open it. Under "QEMU/KVM User Session" double click on your archlinux vm, then click on the light bulb icon, under Video QXL change QXL to virtio. Reboot your VM and enjoy .
