Hello all,
I was trying to get the AUR package ace-stream player working but I am always met with the same error:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "h264". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.
Here is the output of the terminal:
[0x7f4204c03fe8] main demux error: corrupt module: /usr/lib/acestreamplayer/plugins/demux/libmkv_plugin.so
[0x7f4204c96488] main decoder error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `h264'. VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.
[0x7f41fc00a178] mpgatofixed32 audio converter error: libmad error: bad main_data_begin pointer
I already forced sync and reinstalled vlc and acestream.
Could you point me in the right direction?

Welcome to the Arch Linux forums.
Just a guess, but have you installed the libx264 library?

Thank you,
Yes and just reinstalled it, still no luck.

I'd say the problem starts before:
main demux error: corrupt module: /usr/lib/acestreamplayer/plugins/demux/libmkv_plugin.so
If your demuxer does not work properly and feeds wrong data to the codec it can't possibly work.

How would you solve the demuxer problem?

I don't think the main problem is in the demuxer, a friend of mine has the same errors except the line:
[0x7f4204c96488] main decoder error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `h264'. VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.
And the program works for him.

The problem was the package uses an outdated libvpx package. Installing the package the older version:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libvpx-1.3/
from AUR solved my problem. Gonna mark it has solved.
